From its gorgeous landscapes and tasty drinks to its rich history and vibrant culture, the list of reasons to visit Ireland is never-ending. Now, Ireland is gearing up to become one of the most attractive destinations in the world for its education, too.
To entice prospective students from around the world, Education in Ireland has launched The Making of You campaign with a one-minute video on social media. The video showcases lush Irish landscapes, local nightlife, and various shots of the world-famous Trinity College Dublin Library, allowing the audience a peek inside the life of a university student in Ireland. Other key reasons to study in Ireland that the video mentions are the world-class job opportunities and buoyant job market, featuring corporate giants like Google, Amazon, and Linkedin — the “envy of countries all over the world.”
In an interview with The PIE News, Giles O’Neill, the director of Education in Ireland, shared that The Making of You campaign is set to grow across the world over the next 12-18 months. Collaborating with Irish higher education institutions (HEIs) and international student ambassadors, Education in Ireland made sure to place student experience at the very heart of the campaign.
Education in Ireland has also been working hard on promoting Irish HEIs to India, one of the world’s biggest sources of international students. So far, Education in Ireland has brought top Irish universities to five cities across India.
Irish universities welcomed over 5,000 Indian students in 2021, and according to a report by consulting firm, Redseer, 1.8 million Indian students are set to study abroad by 2024, with a growing number of undergraduate students applying for visas to the US, UK, and Canada.
Recognising India’s strong potential for tech, Irish universities like the National College of Ireland are capitalizing on the fact that Ireland is famous for tech, with global corporations like Apple and Microsoft choosing to set up their main offices in the country for its advancements and financial incentives. Other Irish universities like Dublin City University, which offer programs on Pharma and Biopharma, also see an opportunity in India as it is one of the biggest exporters of pharmaceutical products, with an industry valued at $50 billion.
With all these efforts to promote Ireland as an international study destination, Irish educators should also be ready to meet the growing demand for Irish education; and as the number of student applicants continues to soar, recruiters and institutions can expect the amount of paperwork to grow right along with it.
Handling the paperwork can easily become one of the most time-consuming parts of the recruitment and admissions processes, but it’s also one of the most critical steps in a successful application. With GSP’s all-in-one technology platform, we empower our partners to manage all pre-screening applications, conversions, and local recruitment with ease.
GSP works with highly-regarded Irish institutions and is seen as the second most popular European destination for GSP after the UK. We also work with institutions in other European nations such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Switzerland in its bid to provide students access to education.
